Suncine environmental filmfest to screen ‘The Rotation’

Iranian animation ‘The Rotation’ is to compete at the 27th Suncine Int’l Festival of Environmental Cinema in Spain.

Iranian short animation ‘The Rotation’ is set to compete at the 27th edition of the Suncine International Festival of Environmental Cinema in Spain.

Directed and produced by Hazhir Asadi, the 7-minute animation will be screened at the Suncine Views section of the Spanish gala.

The animation shows two tribes that engage in a tug-of-war to possess the sun and moon.

Neither side can defeat the other and their conflict wreaks havoc on the Earth’s climate.

An eventual ceasefire brings temporary stability and harmony until unexpected events renew the cycle of conflict and destruction.

It is a film about the futility of war and the folly of human efforts to dominate nature.

Also scheduled for competition at the Ojai Film Festival in the US in November, ‘The Rotation’ has so far gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Animasyros Festival in Greece and the Girona Film Festival in Spain.

The Suncine Views is a global look at the state of our planet through productions made in different countries.

The Suncine is the oldest environmental film festival in the world. Its goal is to educate through entertainment and to raise awareness, using audiovisual tools and language.

The 2020 edition of the event will take place on November 4-12.
